Q.

Are all of your courses approved by the California Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board?

YES. Synergy PTRN, Inc. is an approved Continuing Professional Development Provider for The Board. All self study courses offered by Synergy are recognized by The Board and will count towards personal development units for license renewal.


Q.

How many contact hours of continuing education do I need to renew my license?

One contact hour equals one personal development unit. You will need 24 contact hours (24 personal development units) of continuing education for license renewal.


Q.

Are there any mandatory courses that I need to take for license renewal?

Courses should be directly relevant to speech-language pathology or audiology, or should be related to direct or indirect client care.


Q.

Will The Board accept my contact hours if they were all awarded from Self Study Courses?

An initial licensee can earn two hours in self-study and two hours from courses related to the discipline of speech-language pathology or audiology, or indirect client care. For all other licensees, four hours may be in self-study and four hours may be in related or indirect client care. A licensee who holds both a speech-language pathology and an audiology license may accrue 2.5 hours in self-study and 2.5 hours in related or in indirect client care.

How will I receive my courses from Synergy?

Once you purchase your course(s) or package, you will be asked to provide your e-mail address at checkout. Once your payment has been processed, Synergy will e-mail you a personalized link to where you can access and download your course(s) (please allow up to 24 hours to receive the link to your course(s)). If you prefer that Synergy mail your courses, please contact us directly at info@synergyptrn.com or at (877) 600-6847 to make arrangements BEFORE you purchase the course(s) or package on-line (additional charges for printing and shipping will apply).


Q.

How do I send my post-test to Synergy for grading?

The post-test is included at the end of each course. You will need to submit your answers to the questions on-line on the "Synergy Post-Test Answer Sheet" (detailed instructions on how to access the answer sheet is included on the first page of each course).


Q.

What are the requirements for passing the post-tests?

You must score at least 70% on the post-test to successfully pass the course.


Q.

If I do not pass the post-test may I re-take it?

YES. You may re-take the post-test until you successfully score 70%. You will not be required to submit additional payment for re-taking the post-test.


Q.

How will I receive my Certificate(s) of Completion from Synergy?

Once you successfully pass the post-test, Synergy will send your Certificate of Completion as an attachment to an e-mail.


Q.

How long do I have to complete the courses once I receive them?

The Self Study Courses are designed for you to work at your own pace. There are no specific timeframes or deadlines for when the courses need to be completed, other than the course must be completed before your license renewal date. You must submit your post-test via the "Synergy Post-Test Answer Sheet" to receive your Certificate of Completion.
